Puma

Puma was born November 19th 2007 thanks to Delmar Puppy Rescue.  Puma's mother was on the kill list and pregnant when she was rescued from a shelter in Georgia.  Puma was one of a litter of nine chocolate pups.

Puma was born with two unique scars; one across the bridge of her nose and the other on the top of her head.  When she was four months old she started swimming and jumping in the Occoquan River.  Her first DockDogs event was in September 2008 at the Remodeling and Home Decor Show in Chantilly, Virginia.  On the first day she was too nervous to jump.  The second day she conquered her fear and placed 2nd in her wave as a Novice.  In her second event, at the Delmarva Waterfowl Festival, she jumped for a new personal best of 13' 11" and won second in her wave placing her in the Junior Division.  Again, her nerves got the best of her on day two and she decided not to jump; so her weekend ended early.  Puma should be rested and read for the spring, ready to improve her personal best.

When she is not on the dock she likes to play Frisbee, ball and anything that can be ripped apart with her brother Max.  Max is a black lab mix, born approximately September 2007.  He was also a rescue; found along a major roadway in Manassa, Virginia.  He was taken to the Prince William County Animal Shelter where we saw him and fell in love with him.  He does not like the water much but loves cheering Puma on at events.
